Have you ever wondered how and where this wonderful pot appeared?

The Slow Cooker was invented in 1950 by Irvin Naxon, inspired by the stories of her grandmother who, in her hometown of Lithuania, was cooking for several hours a traditional Jewish meal called “cholent.” The first name was “Simmer Crock” and it was only in 1971 that it was re-launched on the market under the name of “Crock pot” and has since become very popular in the US and the UK, a real help for women who did not work at home. They could start preparing dinner in the morning before going to work and this was ready to return home saving so precious time and effort.

I’ve often been wondering how I found about her so late !? It would have been a real help a lot earlier.

Slow cooker-ul a fost inventat in anul 1950 de catre Irvin Naxon , inspirat fiind de povestile bunicii sale care, in orasul natal din Lituania ,gatea in cuptor timp de cateva ore o mancare traditional evreiasca numita “cholent” .

Prima denumire a fost aceea de “Simmer Crock” si abia in 1971 a fost reintrodus pe piata sub denumirea de “Crock pot” devenind inca de atunci foarte popular in SUA si UK , un real ajutor pentru femeile care nu munceau acasa. Puteau incepe prepararea cinei de dimineata ,inainte de a merge la servici iar aceasta era gata la intoarcerea acasa salvand astfel timp pretios dar si efort.

Eu de foarte multe ori m-am intebat cum de am aflat de ea asa tarziu!? Mi-ar fi fost de un real ajutor mult mai devreme .
